TOPIC: Light  (by Cherag Regina Coeli McKnight)

Bhagavad Gita 18

This is my Word of promise;  thou shalt in truth come to me, for thou art dear to me.  Leave all things behind, and come to me for they salvation.  I will make thee free from the bondage  of sins.  Fear no more.  Hast thou heard these words, Arjuna, in the silent communion of they soul?  Has the darkness of thy delusion been dispelled by the inner light.?

By thy grace I remember my Light, and now gone is my delusion.  My doubts are no more, my faith is firm; and now I can say "Thy will be done."

Songs to Amida

The light radiating from the Kharmakaya has no limits;
It illumines the world's blindness and darkness.
The light of His wisdom is measureless.  All conditional
forms without exception are enveloped in the dawning Light;
Therefore take refuge in the True Light.

Amita's Light is like a wheel radiating without bounds.
Buddha declared that all things embraced by His Light are freed from all forms of being and non-being.
Take refuge in the One who is Universally Enlightened...

Nothing can be compared to His Pure Light.  The result of encountering this Light destroys all karma bondage;
So take refuge in Him who is the Ultimate Haven.
However far His Light illumines, Love penetrates, the Joy of faith is attained.
Take refuge in the Great One who gives comfort.

I believe Thee to be the best being of all, the source of
light for the world.  Everyone shall choose Thee as the source of light,
O most beneficent spirit, Divine Being.
For Thou, O Lord, shall be unto us as the everlasting light.

Psalm XXVII first stanza
Or Psalm XXXVI    (healing power of God, also)

John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him; and without him was not any thing made that hath been made.  In him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men.  And the Light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness overcame it not.

There came a man, sent from God, whose =e name was John.  The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.  He was not the Light, but came that he might bear witness of the Light.  The true Light was that which ligheth every man coming into the world.
And the Word become flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth;   and we beheld his glory,

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.  His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp.  The lamp is in a glass.  The glass is, as it were a shining star.  This lamp is kindled from a blessed tree, and olive, neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth of itself, though no fire touched it.  Light upon light, Allah guideth unto His light whom He will.

From Abu Talib

O God, give me light in my heart and light in my tomb, and light in my hearing and light in my sight, and light in my feeling and light in all my body, and light before me and light behind me, and light on my right hand and light on my left, and light above me and light beneath me.   O Lord, increase light within me, and give me light, and illuminate me.

From the WRITINGS of Hazrat Inayat Khan

The same light which is fire on earth and the sun in the sky is
God in heaven.

A diamond must be cut before its light can shine out.

The discovering of error is the uncovering of the light.

Blessed is he who sees the star of his soul as the light that is seen in the port from the sea.

Light is Thy face and shade is Thy bosom, Beloved.

In the light I behold Thy beauty, beloved;  through the darkness, thy mystery is revealed to my heart.

The light which comes from the soul, rises through the heart, and manifests outwardly in man's smile, is indeed the light from heaven.  In that light many flowers grow and many fruits ripen.

Native American Tradition
Guaymi Indian tribe of Panama and Costa Rica

From the great rock I see it, the Daybreak Star, the sign of the dawning;
Above the mountain it rises and my heart dances,
Now the light comes, the light that makes me one with all life.
Like the tinamou I am, who sings in the dawn, who is humble with love,
Who walks in the circle of the greater love and the greater power.
Let me be like a ray of light, like a flower blazing with light,
Like the waterfall laughing with light, like the great tree also,
Mighty in its roots that split the rocks, mighty in its head that reaches the sky,
And its leaves catch the light and sing with the wind a song of the circle.
Let my life be like thy rainbow, whose colors teach us unity.
