Back "IN THE MUSIC OF YOUR NAME"The songs on IN THE MUSIC OF YOUR NAME: 1. Toward the One/Bismillah/In Unison (2:56)
That said, we have tried to capture here the feeling that we seek whenever we sing or perform together. We have come to understand that singing this music is spiritual practice, and that the feeling we get singing together, and in particular in that ineffable moment in the silence which follows a song in which we have been perfectly attuned to each other (whether or not perfectly in tune), is as deep a connection with the divine as can be reached in this life. It should, perhaps, be obvious: what we do involves the body, the breath, concentration, attunement, intense listening, and an open heart. This is spiritual practice. So these are the best recorded versions of our live performances, presented in the hope that in some way that sense of shared musical devotion survives the electronic journey from concert to tape to CD to your ear and heart.
